Across all levels of tennis so far in 2025, the trophies have been rolling in for the Canadians. That includes Canada’s junior tennis players, particularly Eve Thibault and Laurence Demers, who each have already scored a hat trick of titles in the new year.

Here is your monthly junior update presented by Har-Tru.

14-year-old Thibault has had a huge start to the year, reaching a total of five finals across both singles and doubles, winning three titles, two in singles and one in doubles. The singles wins were her first on the ITF Junior Tour while the doubles win was her third.

One of Thibault’s titles came at a J30 event in Sucre, Bolivia, where she won an all-Canadian final against Romy Gravenor in three sets. The two girls teamed up to reach the doubles final.

Two weeks later in Punta del Este, Uruguay, the youngster picked up her second singles title, this time without dropping a set. She also won the doubles title that week with Lila Bodur of Turkey a week after losing in the doubles final of the first Punta del Este event.

Laurence Demers, age 15, also won three titles in the first six weeks of the 2025 season.

At the first J60 event in Durban, South Africa, she doubled-up, winning both the singles and doubles titles. She dropped just one set on her way to the title, which was her third ITF Junior singles title in a row stretching back to the end of the 2024 season. She also won the doubles title with Victoire Lansaman of France, with the pair dropping just nine games in total.

The following week at the second event in Durban, Demers’ singles winning streak was finally broken at 18 matches when she lost in the semifinals, but she and Lansaman went back-to-back, picking up their second doubles title in Durban together in as many weeks.

Demers now has five career ITF Junior doubles titles to her name and three in singles.
